RubyConf
The main annual gathering of Rubyists from around the world since 2001. Brought to you by @rubycentral@ruby.social. Learn more at rubyconf.org.
We are excited to share that Allison Pike (@allieoopz@ruby.social) will be opening Day 2 of RubyConf 2026 at 9:00AM with a live edition of Once a Maintainer.
Allison has spent years interviewing open source maintainers to highlight the people behind the software we all depend on. At RubyConf she will be joined on stage by 3 of them: Richard Schneeman, Jeremy Evans, and Colby Swandale.
If you care about open source and the humans who keep it running, this is the panel to be in the room for.
Our final keynote for RubyConf 2026: Jessica Kerr (@jessitron@hachyderm.io) closes Day 1 at 5:00PM.
25 years in software, 14 years speaking from Brisbane to Krakow across ecosystems from C++ to Clojure. A symmathecist focused on sociotechnical systems. Currently at https://Honeycomb.io and https://Graceful.dev with her partner Avdi Grimm.
Despite a career spent across so many communities, she has said that Ruby feels most like home.🥰
We are so glad to have her on stage.
We are delighted to share that Dave Thomas will be closing out RubyConf 2026.
On Day 3, July 16, at 4:15PM, Dave takes the stage for the final keynote of the conference. If you know Dave, you know this is exactly the right person to send everyone home happy. His talks are equal parts entertaining and thought-provoking, and we expect this one to be a fitting and memorable end to three days of Ruby.
Do not head for the exit early. Trust us on this one.

We are honored to announce Yukihiro "Matz" Matsumoto as a keynote speaker at RubyConf.
In 1993, Matz set out with a philosophy, not a spec: a language should make its users happy. The result was Ruby, bringing joy and community to developers for over 30 years.
For many of us, Ruby is why we fell in love with programming. It starts with Matz.

Great Scott! The CFP submission window closes at 11:59 PM on March 15 — and unlike Doc Brown, we can't send you back in time to submit! ⚡
Your talk idea deserves to be on stage, and you have until tomorrow to make it happen.
We asked past speakers and program committee members what separates a standout proposal from one that gets passed over, and we put it all in one guide. From structuring your abstract to knowing your audience to avoiding the most common CFP mistakes, it's everything you need to submit with confidence.
CFPs close TOMORROW, March 15th at 11:59PM. Don't talk yourself out of it. Read the guide and go for it.
