@fox@social.hostnetwork.xyz I think I found it. f you configure an SMB share without a subdirectory, then delete it and configure an SMB share WITH a subdirectory, you end up like this: # df -h | grep nas0 //nas0.rdahlem.de/dahlem 907G 13G 895G 2% /mnt/pve/smbtest //nas0.rdahlem.de/dahlem/proxmox 907G 13G 895G 2% /mnt/pve/smbtest Just run "umount /mnt/pve/smbtest" twice, then reconfigure the share. Yes, this should be considered a bug.

@mj1982 Man will immer einen Volume Manager, sei es LVM oder ZFS. Wenn man Spieglung aufbringen will, kann es kompliziert werden. Spiegelung mit LVM habe ich hier beschrieben: https://dahlem-consulting.de/install-debian-on-raid1 Spiegelung mit ZFS sollte funktionieren, wenn man mit dem Proxmox-Installer anfängt, statt mit Debian und dann Proxmox drüberinstallieren. Den Proxmox-Installer empfehle ich ohnehin für alles, was mit ZFS zu tun, denn er macht das System aus dem Stand bootfähig mit ZFS.

@mj1982 LVM Thin ist meiner Erfahrung nach "asking for trouble". Man muss da ständig aufpassen, dass nicht noch irgendwas vollläuft. Wenn Du unbedingt LVM machen willst, dann dann Thich und ext4 auf die LVs. Promxmox legen dann die virtuellen Festplatten im QCOW2-Format an, das ist quasi thin, nur besser: wenn Du den virtuellen Festplatten sagst, dass SSD und Discard konfiguriert ist, dann gebt das Verfahren sogar Platz zurück, wenn die VM schrumpft.

@mj1982 Das kommt ein bisschen darauf an, was für SSDs das sind und wie viel ihrer Lebenszeit sie schon verbraucht haben. ZFS ist das bessere Filesystem und gleichzeitig Volume Manager, weil es Bitrot entdeckt und umspringt. Aber es übt auch mehr Druck auf die SSDs aus als LVM/ext4. Wenn das Consumer-SSDs sind, die schon mehr als 50% ihrer Lebenszeit verbrannt haben, dann LVM/ext4. Sonst ZFS.

@mj1982 Ich denke, Du solltest Dir zunächst mal darüber klar werden, was Du eigentlich willst. Zwei getrennte Platten mit in Summe 512 GB netto? Oder zwei gespiegelte Platten mit in Summe 256 GB netto? Und was genau willst Du mit diesem Platz dann machen? Dann solltest Du generell mal Deine Verwendung des Begriffs "normal" überdenken, denn der ist immer von der persönlichen Sicht geprägt und gibt dem Gegenüber keine Information, was genau das sein soll.
