node.js compilation times beating all time records ... like biggest compilation time number ever :suave:
Who the heck sent me to do this? lol (me obviously)
It feels very dirty to use the Keychron app. It's a web app, so you navigate to some page, and the browser then interacts and writes to a device on the system (the keyboard in this case). Since I'm on linux that failed on the first try, and then had to do some specific config to allow it.
Luckily I don't think I will use that thing too much.
Still doesn't feel right letting some JS from the cloud configure a local device like that.
Anyway,...
Funny that I think I should have listened far more to a lot of music I nowadays consider aweomse, back when I was younger and this music was fresh back then.
Can't I go back in time to slap the shit out of that younger me for not listening to all of that awesome music earlier? lol
Scrappers are very insistent in probing /tags/* to fetch posts. Still have that route banned, and even when I banned that a few days ago, I still see hits, altough less frequent to probe. Got it under control for now, but I'm pretty sure the moment I return 200 on it again they will come en mass knocking that door again lol If that happens I'm strongly considering sending them to a redirect loop somewhere xD
Been told a moment ago that my sister's cat got mauled by dogs earlier this week. Poor thing D:
That's one reason I forbid myself from having any pets.
Now that I have nothing to during the day, I started checking some disks that were giving me some failures earlier this year when I was away. I usually take a carry disk with me on some trips in case I need to do file transfers or whatever.
Apparently, all the failures I had on multiples disk were due to the carry disk itself being faulty. Using my other dock they seem fine.
I guess I'll have to discard the other carry disk. Bummer, I liked that one.
Noticing a teeny tiny background noise from my headphones that either wasn't there before or I just started to notice. Something is being embebbed in the typical white noise, and is confusing me sometimes, making me think it's something external lol.
The so called "fritanga" xD
Officially unemployed, as of right now onwards. Yay?
A long internal debate about what the heck is it that I want to do next and how awaits me.
Maybe I should just sell bread. Everyone will always want bread, right? (jk)
Anyway, yeah.
Ultimately decided to give up on this G413 keyboard and get a new one. No amount of cleaning will fix it, and replacing switches is not much of an option since I can't get them easily.
Not gonna go with gaming keyboards this time. My next one will be a Keychron. Also wireless, which is convenient. Was thinking on checking if there were keyboards where I can easily replace switches, and the Keychron I'm getting is hot swappable. So that's a big improvement.
The world of aluminium doors is quite complex and confusing. Lots of different parts, mechanisms, and screws for the exact same doors. Not a single set of instructions on how to repair any of it. Hidden screws, weird procedures to remove certain pieces, etc.
I guess nobody ever thought a manual for a door would be needed, but I think it's needed so I don't have to pull out a hammer to fix a stupid door.
Funny when failing far too many rolls in BG3, how can the best archer of the party miss a point blank arrow to someone toppled on the floor almost unconscious? Lol was there a sudden 9.0 earthquake I didn't notice?
The moderation tools for hashtags in the mastodon admin part is quite basic given the number of hashtag to review. Got too many to even use that. Hope it gets some improvement eventually.
Had to resort to console to script some mass disables/approvals. There's so many of them lol And new ones get added every day.
Anyway to have some control over what gets served via the /tags path from mastodon instance? Not sure if there are additional envars or settings to limit what can be looked up on that path. Noticing far too many requests to that endpoint with random tags.
Banned the entire thing in the meantime :p
Spent the entire day working with 2 CDN options to try drop here, config after config, command after command all day long without it working properly, and just got bitten by a stupid cache from nginx serving me an old file.
Caches are evil.
Earlier today, as I was waking up, I considered I could [try]:
Would I dare getting into that rabbit hole? Would I even dare wear all those things?
Very random thoughts I had. Maybe that furcon I went to did spark something after all. But nah... I have other worries to attend.
All of that inspired to make this silly thing :p Any excuse to draw is a good excuse.
I think I managed to tame some of the unwanted traffic I was having, so it was a productive day, unlike many others :p
Might be too early to judge, since it's been like 2 days, but I replaced some lights from white LED to warm LED, and it seems this has actually helped reduce some eye strain. I still hate warm LEDs, but if it works it works. Will try to track this moving forward to be more certain.
Hearing my mouse screen updates from my PC, I hope that isn't a bad sign. Haven't noticed this until now.
Yay! My old Pi still works perfectly. Still slighly annoyed that it reboots when I plug a USB onto it lol minor thing.
Glad I still have it and that it runs, so I can set it up to do some lengthy diagnostics overnight without a worry and without having to lock my main pc or laptop with task. Slowly but surely :p
No Man's Sky added a pokemon-like thing to it :O In the sense of collecting creatures and making them fight in turn based combat.
Mind got foggy for a moment and suddenly I have a ticket for an event on my hand... :p
Feels weird to be at job hours with absolutely nothing to do. Not assigned to anything, and a week away to part ways from this position, so not gonna get anything assigned either way.
