I'd actually recommend that you try a rules-lite RPG. There are so many, and with a table of experienced players, you don't need the mechanical geegaws of more complicated systems to have a great game. No one forgets the rules of Cairn or Mork Borg or Cthulhu Dark, etc. You just play. And there are games for every taste. It's still a lot of players for any RPG, but you can easily adjust things for the group. @gamerlady Ooh. The board game Eldritch Horror goes up to 8 players and is supposed to be really good.

There are a lot of good games that go up to 6, like Oath, and you can add a bunch of players to Root with expansions, though people say that's not optimal. @gamerlady Oh, and lol, there's the classic that's supposed to be played with exactly 7 players: Diplomacy. You could make your group a bunch of Diplomacy freaks (which supposedly breaks up friendships pretty regularly).

And it's really designed for seven people.
