The thing is, plenty of people will rather be a Mad Max king sitting on top of ruins than to be an ordinary citizen in a prosperous world. The latter gives you food and security and community and maybe quite a bit of creature comfort but the former allow people to be their worst selves with no consequences and to treat others as lesser beings and plenty of people really, really want that.
Actually when did all our local media agree on using West Asia instead of Middle East? It’s a good change IMO but has there been a directive or something?

Sure, you can tell that some videos are AI-generated because they feature cute animals doing human-like things, but would you suspect that videos of people eating fruits in the jungle are also AI-generated unless you happen to be a plant nerd?

(So you could say that pork was a mutton substitute in the first place and it makes sense to substitute pork with mutton!)
(Though mutton is way more gamey and a bit more flavorful than pork, and ironically where I live, it’s the Chinese who grew up pork who tend to find mutton too gamey for their taste.)

As much as Claude is going to destroy white-collared jobs like mine, it has also empowered tons of people to vibe code their own apps, webpages, and other solutions to solve their own niche challenges. The future is not-so-great for employment but it’ll also make the barrier of entry for small businesses & individual entrepreneurs much, much lower.
We’ve reach that point where you can type in a bunch of incomprehensible jabber and Claude / other LLMs will still perfectly get what you mean 90% of the time but when you communicate with humans, there’s a high chance they’ll misinterpreted it somehow haha

@serlwch We do have lots of chinese vegetarian shops here, but they aren’t popular among Muslim communities since they dont have much of a vegetarian tradition
