@vijay@discuss.systems the SWE's focus was primarily on software engineering and productionizing the prototypes that the students were building. There is a lot to be said about managing open source projects that external companies are using.

@vijay@discuss.systems I was technically not part of the same lab, but I sat with them. I would say it was successful considering how widely used spark, mesos and tachyon are. I would ask Matei or HY about their experience.
