2 weeks ago did a run up Snow Creek in Yosemite. Forgot to post. @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org post about another rattlesnake bite reminded me. The Western Rattlesnake below was on rocks chest high as I ran by, when it rattled, it stopped me cold and my brain gave me a good jolt of adrenaline before I knew what was going on. Good times.

Listening to Killian Jornet talking about his experience on the 14ers in the lower 48. Awesome to hear the stories. Crazy, didn't carry food on extended pushes then would eat 6k calories before the next push.

My first wood rat sighting. Have seen their nests a lot around the bay but never the rodent. This was at Ranch Canada del Oro on Sat.

I don't really race, but the opportunity to run in a cave was too much to resist.
Caving Cow Half Marathon, 5 times around the trail, then into Cumberland Caverns for the last 0.8 mile. Headlamp required. I would do it again.
Unfortunately, racing doesn't allow a competitive brain to stop and take pics. Totally blew out my Coros training load, however, never seen such a high number.

Caught the hatching of a Western Screech Owl. 6min video, be patient, watch the first couple of minutes at least. Amazing luck as momma is only out of the box for 10min every 12hrs.
Any ideas? The thought of digging 30' feet of trench ain't getting me psyched. Initial pulls in any direction were fruitless.

So the first pic is what was shown all over the news and compared to the blue marble pic taken in 1972.
The light in this pic is strictly what is being reflected by the moon as the sun is eclipsed behind earth. You can see a aurora at 1 and 7 o'clock in the shot. But as it turns out it is not what you would see if you were looking at it, the second pic is closer. The brightness comes from camera trickery, Super high ISO, wider aperture and longer exposure.
