@fay@lingo.lol @iamdtms@mas.to @nixCraft@mastodon.social @chriscoyier@front-end.social @beep@follow.ethanmarcotte.com We Crawl very slowly and very politely, always respecting robots.txt. We have been doing so for years, way before LLMs. Yes some companies have used our crawls for AI training, but we’re mainly a research crawl, our goal is to provide resources to researchers, archive and actually increase visibility of underrepresented parts of the web.

I decided that this Mastodon account will be a mostly professional-only. So I created a new account for more personal stuff:
@pjox@mstdn.social. If you like coffee or you want to follow my journey preparing for a Marathon, you can follow me there ☕️🏃🏻♂️😄
Ran the Berlin marathon yesterday and while it was not my best marathon and I was recovering from injury, I had an amazing time. I really hope I can do better next year in Paris where I'll run for cancer research. If you can donate please do so: https://marathon-paris.dossards-solidaires.org/fundraisers/pedro-ortiz-suarez
Since I got into running, I always wanted to contribute with it. So I decided to run the 2025 Paris Marathon for the Gustave Roussy Institute, the Leading Cancer Centre in Europe. This is a cause close to my heart, as cancer has touched my family, my friends and colleagues:

If you can and want to give a donation to the Gustave Roussy Institute, however small, I'd be extremely grateful. If you cannot donate, resharing/boosting is always appreciated! Thank you! ❤️
Ran the Paris Marathon yesterday. It was an amazing experience. Getting into running was probably the best decision I’ve made recently. It has helped massively with both physical and mental health. I highly recommend any type of physical activity, especially for researchers 🏃🏻♂️
1000 days of German in @duolingo@mastodon.social 🇩🇪! Hopefully in the next 1000 I might be actually able to communicate effectively in German 😅
