||He/Him|| Durham Crew since '22. My favorite spots in the triangle include Durham Central Park, the Chelsea Theater in Chapel Hill, Koki for empanadas, Tin Roof Teas in Raleigh, and Gourmet Kingdom in Carrboro. I'm big into cultural stuff like book clubs, theater, and movies.
Hey, Duke. Maybe don't.

Checking out Haw River Ballroom for the first time for the New Pornographers.
@beckett@triangletoot.party Oh, I guess the Orange County system is separate and started in January.
Testing to see if the bus is as free in Carrboro as it is in Durham. They have let me on the bus. But perhaps they will charge me to exit the bus.
I would say Carrboro has more charm than Apex, which I consider to be eerie. "Hunky Dory Opens Record Store in Downtown Apex.
Record shop owner Michael Bell said he chose Apex as the store’s fourth location for its charm." https://westernwakenc.com/news/culture/record-store-opens-in-downtown-apex/
Looks like everyone is trying to have a leisurely Friday morning at Bean Traders.
So it sounds like Orange County says, "We built you a new library in Carrboro, so why should we keep funding the one in Chapel Hill at the same level?" https://triangleblogblog.com/2026/05/05/orange-county-budget-proposes-to-slash-chapel-hill-library-funding/
These are some of the more recent building unions NCTU and Triangle Tenant Union have been supporting. The article details how they've been made to endure various safety hazards in part because they are mostly black senior citizens in need of housing subsidies.

Now I'm in Lanza's Cafe regrouping with an "almond raspberry latte" (because they are out of the syrup to make a piña colada latte).
Went to investigate this alleged "Locale 601" co-working space in Chapel Hill to see if I could finagle an affordable individual membership. It's supposedly in a building that shares space with some residential condos, businesses, dentists, art galleries, what have you. The concierge did not know it existed. Theoretically on the second floor with the dentists, but the area seemed abandoned.
There was, however, a clean and peaceful public restroom.
Bluesky might just never come back. That's fine.
Starting to surmise that spring, not summer, might be my most difficult season.
