All supporting acts quit Ed Sheeran tour in protest of Macklemore’s removal

The artist Finneas and three other supporting acts quit Ed Sheeran’s tour on Tuesday, after the US rapper Macklemore was removed for his pro-Palestine comments on stage.
Finneas, Irish acts Aaron Rowe and Beoga, and Lukas Graham of Denmark all posted statements announcing they were quitting Sheeran’s “Loop Tour” in solidarity with the rapper and Palestinian people.
"Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed,” Finneas said in a statement on social media.
His statement came after Irish singer Aaron Rowe published a statement, announcing that he had decided to withdraw as a support act for the British singer.

The schools appear to have been careful not to refer to the event as a “protest,” describing it in their communications as a “communal prayer” and a “student-led communal Shacharit.” Their messaging about the reason for the demonstration, too, has been vague. The emails viewed by Jewish Currents do not mention Mamdani’s criticism of Israel or his condemnation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the two major points of tension between the mayor and the Jewish establishment.
Despite the cautious tone, it is hard to read this mustering of day-school students outside Gracie Mansion as anything other than an act of protest against Mamdani, and an implicit charge that he poses a particular threat to observant Jews in the city. “It is time for us to stand up and be heard,” the email to Ramaz parents read. “It is time to show up proudly as Jews, as New Yorkers, and as Zionists.”

Over 400 alleged Michigan Jewish Democratic and independent voters signed a pledge in late August to vote for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers, igniting a controversy and generating questions about whether Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed was losing critical support among a group that typically votes blue by about a 2:1 ratio.
But a Drop Site review of signatories in the “Michigan Jews Against Extremism” campaign finds many of the Jewish community leaders involved have deep ties to the GOP, as well as to pro-Israel activist groups such as AIPAC. Nearly 50 were involved in a nearly identical gambit in 2012 that went by the name “Jews for Mitt.” Then-President Barack Obama, the group argued, was so “anti-Israel” that their consciences drove them to abandon the Democratic Party to support Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
