I played #shadowrun 2e for many years back in the day. I got back into the hobby in 2018; we started in Shadowrun but moved to #SavageWorlds (#SWADE) using #Sprawlrunners. The latter is a really good #cyberpunk with magic rules framework for SWADE.
I've also played or ran most of the major systems at one point or another. Mostly ran -- I am a #ForeverGM!
I run all my games online via #FoundryVTT. I also write modules for Foundry, and have contributed code to the SWADE system.
One of my table sent me a belated Christmas present, I reckon he nailed it!
Hoping to get a second session this week out of the Camp Terror one-shot for #SavageWorlds. It’s an excellent little scenario focused on emulating classic slasher movies from the 80s. It has three “acts” and changes the rules between them to better emulate the movie tropes, which is extremely clever.
Below is a map of the remote wilderness summer camp I challenged myself to draw in 30 minutes as I was prepping the session. I think it came out pretty good!
What I should be doing: prepping my next session (a one-shot in Big Apple Sewer Samurai; it’s a #SavageWords setting based on 80s cartoons.)
What I keep procrastinating with instead: a new attempt at porting the magical traditions from #Shadowrun to my #Sprawlrunners game. And another attempt at porting the “Callings” from Heart, also to Sprawlrunners.
I picked up Spire and Heart in the Bundle of Holding and (as ever) am really enjoying Grant Howitt’s work. There’s some really cool ideas in Heart. For example: "Calling".
Each character has a Class (works as you'd expect) but also their Calling, which is why they are exploring the Heart (a sort of body-horror Lovecraftian endless dungeon): Adventure, Enlightenment, Forced (someone sent you down), Heartsong (you’ve been bewitched by mystic forces), Penitent (you are repenting a sin. )

Last few days I have been somewhat distracted working up yet another attempt at some No-Power-Point rules for #SavageWords… as usual, I think I’m onto something. I always think that when I’m giddy with new ideas 😀
This is a cool piece of writing analysing the leftist politics in early Warhammer - that are still buried in the setting in some ways, no matter how many times the alt-right make memes of space marines.
