News about OpenStreetMap in Belgium.
Our surprisingly popular https://historical.osm.be got an update. Historical orthophotos are back, recent basemaps and orthos now include Wallonia, and our archive of yearly OSM tiles was expanded. We also reorderd those OSM layers so you can easily time travel what OSM looked like from 2019 till today.
Base functionality remains the same: pick a historical basemap and project the current OSM road network on top of it. Or pick some other overlays - e.g. OSM+super detailed hillshading
After many years of dedicated service, @joost_schouppe@en.osm.town is stepping down from the board of OSM Belgium. While he will continue to be an active mapper and an important part of our community, this feels like the right moment to reflect on everything he has helped build. Read the full post on our website.
