With near record breaking temperatures forecast on Sunday, many folks will want to head to area lakes and rivers. But, it's important to remember that the water is still incredibly cold. Cold water shock happens quickly and without notice so please, if you're going to be around water act responsibly. Use a life jacket, always be with a friend, and avoid jumping off of heights. Temperatures will be heating up this weekend, especially on Sunday when widespread high temperatures in the 80s are in the forecast for inland valleys. Some may be tempted to jump in rivers or lakes to cool off, however water temperatures are still dangerously cold and can result in cold water shock, which can be fatal.
