@danalderman@hostux.social Aren't you thinking of Colossus which was used for Tunny traffic, not Enigma? Colossus was a set of shift registers (using valves) plus a logic unit which was plug-programmable. It replaced the Heath Robinson machine which used two paper tape loops.
@liw@toot.liw.fi The day will be approximately 86400 seconds long. The period of daylight in a day in the northern hemisphere is at its shortest today. Sunset has imperceptibly been getting later in the day for a little over a week already. Sunrise is still getting very slightly later, before getting progressively earlier in the new year.
