We’re excited to release version 1.17.0 of the Unbound recursive #DNS resolver. It introduces support for the PROXYv2 protocol, as well as access-control actions per interface. In this article Yorgos explains how to get the most from these new features. https://blog.nlnetlabs.nl/somebody-told-me/

Proudly serving the Internet community since 1999 with open-source core infrastructure software and applied research for DNS and BGP.
The people behind Unbound, NSD, Routinator, Krill and much more...
We have updated our Unbound #DNS resolver documentation to include the PROXYv2 support that was released in version 1.17.0. #docs https://unbound.docs.nlnetlabs.nl/en/latest/topics/core/proxy.html
A vulnerability named Non-Responsive Delegation (NRDelegation) Attack has been discovered in various #DNS resolving software. We have assigned CVE-2022-3204 and categorise this a MEDIUM severity for Unbound. A fix is available in version 1.16.3. https://nlnetlabs.nl/news/2022/Sep/21/unbound-1.16.3-released/
We are closely following the proposed Cyber Resilience Act by the European Commission, affecting almost all hardware and software on the European market. We are keen to look after the effects on #opensource development. Want to team up or help us? Read more: https://blog.nlnetlabs.nl/newsletter-cooking-with-simd/#policy-governance
Christiane Kirketerp de Viron from @DigitalEU@respublicae.eu on obligations to manufacturers in the Cyber Resilience Act at the One Conference. Now what if our Internet infrastructure is relying on #opensource, made by volunteers, hobbyist and professionals alike. Does this distinction make sense?
@humanetech @liaizon@social.wake.st @mro@digitalcourage.social It's been like this for a *really* long time already. 🙂 You know NLnet Labs from Unbound #DNS Resolver, NSD authoritative DNS server, as well as #RPKI tooling such as Krill and Routinator. We are independently funded by those who rely on our #opensource software. https://nlnetlabs.nl/funding/
Rotonda, our modular programmable #BGP engine in #rustlang, will have a dynamic, interpreted language for data modelling (programmable RIBs), querying and filtering routes. https://github.com/NLnetLabs/roto
Today at #RIPE85: our policy and governance expert Maarten Aertsen on the Cyber Resilience Act's effects on #opensource for the Internet. Will this proposal by the EU Commission negatively affect developers of core internet infrastructure? 10:30 UTC+2 in main, or streamed at ripe85.ripe.net/live/main/
We’re stoked to organise our first Amsterdam #rustlang meetup together with Tweede golf bv: “Rust in critical infrastructure”. We figured starting small with an event for 50 people, but we were fully booked in an hour. Let’s go bigger next time! #opensource #DNS #BGP #RPKI https://www.meetup.com/rust-nederland/events/289204146/
Many thanks to Fredrik Pettai and Leif Johansson at the Swedish University Computer Network (SUNET). SUNET funded the development of the PROXYv2 protocol in Unbound and tested the feature extensively before we released it in Unbound 1.17.0. #DNS https://blog.nlnetlabs.nl/somebody-told-me/
RIPE NCC is the third RIR that will offer a Publication Service for Delegated #RPKI, letting you run a Krill RPKI Certificate Authority under one or more parent RIRs and publish all ROAs in one of the available services. #hybrid #routingsecurity https://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail/archives/routing-wg/2022-October/004638.html
Here’s a new edition of our newsletter! Topics include the EU Cyber Resilience Act, changes at ARIN making Routinator easier to use, speed improvements in Krill and the PROXY protocol in Unbound. #DNS #BGP #RPKI #opensource https://blog.nlnetlabs.nl/newsletter-cooking-with-simd/
