Handmade art book for my Moon-obsessed toddler 🌕 (Sans cover because their name is on it) It started as a low effort "I can finish this in one afternoon" project, with finger-painted moon & splotchy stars. But I decided to add the animals so it ballooned into a week-long ordeal. Acrylic paint, gesso, matte medium & water-soluble pastels on 180gsm mixed media paper. #artvideo #video #MixedMedia #art #MastoArt #fediart #artwork #CreativeToots #TraditionalArt #painting #ArtistBook #moon

Work in progress of my mixed media sketch from last year, "Grandfather Oak".
Finished work is here: https://neladunato.com/sketchbook/grandfather-oak/

Inktense pencil and watercolor paint in a sketchbook. I used colored pencils in the finished version.

Replying to

@bouletcorp2@mastodon.social my French is very rudimentary, but as a work-at-home mom of an 8 month old baby, I understood everything 😅

@Geri@mastodon.online I gotta check how individual reps voted... I don't believe my country was on the right (left?) side sadly.

Replying to

@tso@mastodon.art that's a very cool idea! I've seen drawings made directly in yearly diaries, but not split like this.

@ZDL @simplenomad @wtfwtf_ok °C is not an SI unit, Kelvin is. Formulas in physics are all based on K, I've never encountered °C in university (electrical engineering). In SI, C means Coulomb, which is a unit of electric charge.

@eishiya@mastodon.art @Nefex@ruhr.social @jeypawlik@mastodon.art was just about to comment that the amount of money I've been spending on higher quality art supplies could easily add up to the cost of a tablet. And my main tablet is still working well after 19 years of daily use, so that's some hefty savings. (I don't know if current tablets are built to last that long.) But I made my first comics on 160gsm printer paper with some fineliners. I would recommend refillable pens now as it's even cheaper.

@JohannaForster@mastodon.art very nice! I kinda find gouache like the worst of both worlds haha 😂 You're supposed to be able to paint light over dark, but it lifts like crazy and I can never get a clean top layer.

@ZDL @simplenomad @wtfwtf_ok you're the one that brought SI units into this, dumbass. "Confidently incorrect" is my favorite genre of mansplaining.

Replying to

@menelion@dragonscave.space as someone very frustrated that most common (or default) Win image apps can't open WebP, thank you! 🙇🏻‍♀️

Replying to

@menelion@dragonscave.space I tried it and have a suggestion: make the default location for converted images be the same folder the source image is in. I can't imagine a scenario where I wouldn't want them to be in the same folder (and instead some other catch-all folder on the computer), but if there are any, that could be an option. But it's not practical as a default behavior.
