went to the creek after dinner and we found the biggest salamander I've seen in that area. Pretty sure it was a spring salamander, not sure what else it could be. The salamanders of Ohio guide doesn't even list it in our county (surrounding ones yes). Exciting stuff

I think I disagree with the “anyone can become disabled at any time” post. I’ve certainly used that line before, but the more time I spend caregiving/parenting/being in a body the more I think it’s more accurate to say that it’s inherent in everyone all the time to varying degrees and with varying severity—it isn’t that you are not and then become disabled, it’s that you already and always were and it fluctuates throughout your embodied life. disability is constitutive of embodiment

fuck. I think I’ve been avoiding admitting to myself for several years now that I really like teaching. I’ve done some through the years at varying levels, primarily undergraduate but I briefly taught music to pre k –2nd grade kids. For the last couple years every time there was an opening at the Montessori school my son attends I had this urge to apply. Just left orientation for 1st graders and I’m all weepy not just because my son is starting elementary but because I want to be a teacher
