@mahryekuh@hachyderm.io I recently built a new personal site and did all the CSS by hand; modern CSS is so good. Nothing like when I first got started with it back in the day.
@mahryekuh@hachyderm.io I kinda liked tailwind when it first came out and I was doing a huge amount of prototyping, I used it for a first pass to experiment and then ripped it out for CSS I was actually happy with... But then it became like a whole JS thing and I'll pass.
@davidrevoy@framapiaf.org I can't imagine how frustrating this must be for artists.
My industry has been hit by this too, but for however much I want to believe that code is art, it will never be as personal and expressive as actual art. I really feel for you.
Love your work, btw.
@mahryekuh@hachyderm.io no kidding. I started in the late 90s and it was a whole other world haha. I'm still not like great at it but I at least try to stay semantic and clean.
Grid and flex are so flipping cool though; display: table and its kin can go right to hell.
https://natecox.dev if you want to see how lame my design skills are lol.
@jschauma@mstdn.social could I interest you in a bit of #geminiprotocol? That web still exists, with a tiny bit of extra effort in that you need a separate browser (#lagrange is my preference) and a different protocol (gemini://gem.natecox.dev/)
