Mitch Effendi (ميتش أفندي)

I am absolutely gobsmacked by the journalistic achievement that @mozilla@mozilla.social pulled off with their mental health, prayer, and lifestyle app audit.

Highly worth a read if you are like me and live in the orbit of these trendy app-based therapy services.

I guess I need to rephrase an old adage for the younger generations:

No, it is not 'cringe' to care about injustice. 'No cap, bruh', you should care about other people because reinforcing the social fabric is 'straight bussin.' I'm 'whole ass', y'all.

ty to the @fosstodon@fosstodon.org admins for their hard work today 🙏

Headlights are way too bright these days.

Another sketch from today. #art

I wasn't really happy with the way my watercolor turned out so I did some sketching so I wouldn't feel a failure. :p

I've been here for a bit, but I see a lot of folks arriving here, and reintroducing themselves, so I'll do it too.

Hi, I'm Mitch. I don't have any particular style, I just am a working artist who posts as myself here.

I like coffee, Philly, Pittsburgh, anything on two wheels, music, linux, theology, cats, computers, pacifism, art, unity, equity, and getting high off airplane glue. Will use Adobe Illustrator for food.

Follow me if you want perspectives from an American pacifist

#Introduction

Trying to get Calckey installed in a local environment in my homelab, then proxied via my cloud VM. Let’s see how this-a-go!

Ever seen citronella flowers? Neither had I. From our garden here in Philly.

hello. my name is mitch, and i'm a dumb stupid baby idiot.

i had thought i hosed my instance of `dnsmasq` on my Ubuntu server (yeah yeah, i know, it's just old and i'm lazy).

i literally redid every part of my resolver, reinstalled old drivers, rolled my kernel back. Tried routing things around IPv6.

you wanna know what the problem was?

I had UFW turned on with no rules :blobcatfacepalm: :blobcatfacepalm: :blobcatfacepalm: :blobcatfacepalm: :blobcatfacepalm:

It's Red from #pokemon!

Paintin on a schweddy Sunday.

Starting the process of moving to my own server, and off Fosstodon. If you notice some weirdness, that's why. 🙂

A little self portrait doodle this morning with alcohol markers.

Thinking I may go single-user instance. My subscribed timeline is very good at this point, and it might be nice to be able to use my own custom emojis.

Sorry Calckey — I'll try again when your documentation exists. 😅

However, my new Mastodon server spun up in a minute cus I am far more familiar with it. I picked ‘posts.dumb.stuff.donaberger.xyz’.

Hey! I got Calckey running in a stable environment.

Sadly, all it took was deploying a whole new Ubuntu Server. The provided install script appeared to insist, lol. Trying to get the proxy working, then we might be in business.

I think it's a damn shame that kids don't wear fingerless gloves anymore. What happened?

Very proud that my homepage is extremely readable in Lynx browser.

I'm making a goofy white guy smile I promise.
