EDIT: All slots filled, thanks so much!
Hi mighty network! I'm looking for professional translators who can help me with translating 27 weather conditions (3 variants each) in my Retro Mode Weather widget. 💸 Paid gig. 💸
Looking for: (Edited)
🇮🇹 Italian -- Translator FOUND!
🇪🇸 Spanish (Spain) -- Translator FOUND!
🇧🇷 Portuguese (Brazil) -- Translator FOUND!
I need you to be able to write international (EU) VAT invoices. DM me here or email me at hi@moer.tel :)
Last chance to order from my shop before it takes a Winter break. City maps, lenticular prints and sticky notes are all back in stock.
If you order until tomorrow 00:00 CET, everything will arrive in time before Christmas. :)
My shop is open until tomorrow, 4th December and (almost) all lenticular prints are in stock. Shipments within the EU should arrive before Christmas. :)
A new weather widget version is around the corner. In this picture, you can see three new features in action:
1. Gradient support!!!
2. Outlines
3. Cutout mode (where the wallpaper shows through empty areas)
Still testing the last bits and pieces before it gets rolled out next week...

@HeckinChonker makes total sense. I'm luckily still on a super old Patreon plan that only takes 5%. Still, money out the window. 😅

@Radgryd as a creator, I have the same problem on the other side: People receive all updates via email and have zero reason to even come to the Patreon site anymore. 😅
I'll check out the expense tracker, thank you! (Not entirely convinced I'd be updating it enough.)

@bytex64 the entity who collects VAT is the one who needs to have the billing address. Patreon does it but I'm not sure about Ko-Fi. It's definitely an issue on a creator's own website.

@julian you're definitely more disciplined than I am, then. I'd let it slide for 6 months, then suddenly review everything and cancel/consolidate in a mild panic.
Replying to
@bytex64 oh, I see. In that case the website option would be a lot worse as it requires a full billing address (at least for the European folks it's a requirement for tax reasons).

@hirnsushi thanks a lot for the reminder about Steady! I keep forgetting that it exists. Just checked them out and their 10% fee is actually worse than the old 5% Patreon plan I'm still on.
It's interesting that they offer SEPA. I've been on the other end once when I offered SEPA payments in my shop and each failed attempt would cost me a 10€ fee. 🫠 Deactivated it as fast as I could after finding out.

@CatMaidLeugim @tea Yes, I dooooo! :D That was such a lovely con. I still get some giggles at other conventions when people spot the city map of Trier, loudly exclaiming "TRIER!?" :blobfoxaww:
I hope you had a great time there!

@The4thCircle not a stupid question, at all! :) Yes, the effect will still work behind glass or acrylic pane.
I'd recommend a matte one to reduce glare, but you could even get rid of the glass/pane entirely because the lenticular sheet on top is robust plastic.
At conventions, I display them in a frame without the pane.

@kaosine would you want an option to remove all the hearts and design it for a friend or family member? If so, that's definitely not the first time I've heard it.
The heart above their heads can be removed already, btw, but the ones next to the names are currently static.
(Also, from a fellow introvert: you can do it! 💪)
Replying to
@kaosine currently it's the only one. I'm testing the waters if it's worth the effort. If you have any ideas, let me know, I'm really curious to hear your thoughts on what you'd be looking for :)

@DoIAveTo thank you! :) Yeah, exactly, figuring out customs/taxes is a real pain. That's why I'm offering a digital file - you can take it to the print shop of your choice. Not as convenient but at least a workaround.

@julian that's fair. I still use Patreon exclusively and wouldn't necessarily want to manage two platforms but it seems that people are a bit fed up with Patreon.
It's easy to lose sight of monthly payments with individual websites, though.

@Radgryd I feel that. Judging from the current poll status, you're definitely not alone. Are you concerned of losing track of the places where you donate?
