The ledger format is kinda like markdown for accounting, the command line tool is just the parser, using different types of commands to make sense of your accounting/spending. Ledger doesn't have first class support for dealing with CSV/XLS/PDF/QDF files, so indeed it does not meet your requirements. For my software I do plan to add a way to import data from those formats into a ledger file. But I am not sure if there is a generic way to do this. But I am sure your code will be handy 😀

For webservers Rouille is sufficient for most projects.
