Master Control Program

We now show all UK users this page based on their IP address.

We have to do this because of a new censorship law that was passed in the UK.

Today is the third birthday of LGBTQIA.space 🐘🚀🌈! We are pretty proud of that 😁 The moderation team has a little virtual meetup today. Please have a piece of cake (or something) and post something cute!

We just upgraded the server to Mastodon 4.5.4!

Good News! Our media sever is moved back to germany after our hoster decided it was a good idea to move it to france without our consent.

So the media server will be down for a few hours.

We are aware of some problems with the media server. This is caused by a server migration by the host. We expect the disruption to last for a few more hours.

Because of some trouble with STRATO that moved our media server without our consent to France (and after a lot of escalation from our site back to Germany again) we have a few avatars and header images that are broken because the media server was not available for something like 5 days in total.

Because of that we are currently refreshing all accounts to fix this issue. If you are another instance admin please notify us if we cause any trouble, we only use a concurrency of 10 with a lot of instances so there should be none but one does never know.

Also if you are one of our users you might have noticed that your follower number is a bit lower now that is because we purged the mastodon.lol and kinky.business instances that are closed for a few months now. These 2 instances were pretty big and this lead to a slow refresh speed hence the purge. Be assured that only the number got smaller and you have no real followers lost since these accounts were not capable of reading anything from you anymore.

Last week, due to a severe security vulnerability, we were forced to switch to the new Mastodon version without our mods, like the 10k character limit, and because we are busy people, we did not have time until today to change that, sorry.

Today, we have implemented and deployed these mods.

The char limit is 10k again.
