New ISP. I need a dedicated IP to open all the ports on my router. So naturally I call them on the phone. It goes like this...
Operator: Hello, how can we help you?
Me: Hello, I need a dedicated IP to open up all of my ports on my router.
Operator: Sure, can we call you back on this number?
Me: Yeah, no problem.
Operator: Ok, so have a nice day!
Me: Thanks, you too!
Now tell me... Why isn't every damn ISP working like this? You need something, they don't hide it behind a shitty fee you have to pay or just ragebait you on the phone. They get the job done.

@novabrooks@selfhosted.cafe Hooking up some APIs would be pretty awesome too. Like Spotify and Navidrome (and other services if possible) to share what you are listening at the moment, like I have seen some have on their portfolio

I think a decentralised social media centered around music would be pretty cool. Like do you all know how in Instagram in the DM section there are now temporary notes? You can also put music in them and it will appear to all your followers. Imagine a social made only for that. Users choose music to show and have a scrolling feed to hear snippets of the songs their friends choose.

@novabrooks@selfhosted.cafe I was imagining it in my mind lol. I haven't seen anyone making something similar yet. But sharing songs and playlist over the fediverse like that I think it would be pretty neat. As I've said in my comment on this thread, I guess there is ListenBrainz but that is not very intuitive imo. There should be something simple and just fun to share

@fox@social.hostnetwork.xyz without a dedicated IP, I can't open all of the ports. And with my Caddy setup I prefer having the ports 80 and 443 open to then hookup everything to my domain. I heard of Cloudflare Tunnels or other weird stuff, but I prefer doing it this way.
