@llorenzin@infosec.exchange and I were in Asheville over the weekend and were on campus at AB Tech for an event on Saturday when we saw a sign for the Asheville Radio Museum.
Following the signs through the building and up to the 3rd floor, we found a lovely museum with working tube radios including the centerpiece Zenith Stratosphere (of which there are only ~40 left in existence). They have a Bluetooth to AM transmitter setup in the museum room so they can play music the radios will pick up, and it sounded amazing!
They also have a lot of ham (and other) radio gear and a full ham radio station setup in the corner that operates as W4AFM.
Wonderful little museum, and both the docents we talked to were great! It was fairly random that we were there, the museum was open, and we had the time to stop in. I highly recommend going to the Asheville Radio Museum if you're in town.

I finally got around to adding a mag mount antenna to my car in the last few hours before a big road trip. It's an old, unbranded¹ whip that I got as part of a mixed lot of radio gear at an estate sale last year. The integrated coax cable was long enough to go in through the back hatch, around the back seat, and up next to the driver's seat.
I had previously tested the antenna on VHF (2m) and UHF (70cm) using the main radio in my shack so I knew it worked. While on the road, I successfully used the antenna connected to my Baofeng HT to join a local weekly net in Indiana!
¹ The antenna has a label that says "Mobile Antennas & Access, Burlington, NC". I don't find any references online, so I assume they went out of business and probably never had an online presence. Has anyone heard of them?

I got a new pair of sport sunglasses, and the yellow rubberized part at the end of the temples catches on my hair, and when I have it up in a ponytail, that's a PIA.
I used some black Sugru (moldable silicon rubber) to mold around the end with the catchy bits. Now the temple tips slide smoothly over my hair when putting the sunglasses on or taking them off.
(I was in a rush getting it done last night, so I didn't take any pictures of the process, but here's a picture of the result.)
