In short, the argument presented is that the party must grow its base beyond populist leftism, because there’s an electoral ceiling to that appeal.
Spent the night talking with an NHS manager who transferred in from tech/finance background. The level of inefficiency and waste they talk about is off the charts. Staggering stuff. My mind has been blown. I’m disgusted and appalled… and yet, somewhat drawn to the idea that maybe I could make a big difference to a huge and much-loved service.
