Hey Indie Dev’s, we’re coming to the end of day 2, and it’s been a good event so far - 279 participating apps, is great for July!
I need to ask one favor — take a moment during the last day, find some #IndieAppSales social posts from other developers and give them a boost. Let’s finish strong!

Xcode 26.4 RC2 added a critical feature to agent support — the ‘Allow All’ permission is now applied to the specific CLI command, rather than just the use of the terminal
I was kind of shocked with the first release - hitting ‘Allow All’ before was effectively equivalent to running in YOLO mode 🤯
For Xcode’s new MCP server (exposing the functions to external agents like Claude Code CLI), is there a way to grant global approval for access to the tools? Having multiple agents running constantly bouncing Xcode at me, asking to grant permission is killing me…
Oh boy — I put together my todo list for the day not 30 minutes ago, and I already have no idea what one of these items means 😳
I’ve been doing some work in Kotlin/Android this week for a client project, and have actually been enjoying it. Curious, though - I’ve always heard that Kotlin is very similar to Swift, and I find it very different.
Completely different set of keywords, many of which I haven’t encountered in other languages (but do have at least rough equivalents). I don’t have much trouble reading it, but it would be a while before I’m able to write it efficiently (thankfully, I have Claude for that 😉)

Excited for the next release of Bills to Budget - it's really turned a corner for me in how simple it is to keep budgets up to date, and to reset your budgets at the end of a cycle.
TestFlight is now open for the next Bills to Budget release!
The next update makes it easier to bring one-time and irregular income into your plan, and to review your accounts before small mismatches turn into bigger ones.
Try it now!
It's finally the day, and with a few last minute entries, we have a grand total of... 🥁drum roll 🥁… 400 APPS listed for #IndieAppSales! 🎉
There are some awesome deals listed here - give it a browse and see what you find! Don't forget that you can filter by category to find the apps you're interested in, and if you find something you like, give the app a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ rating in the App Store!
Just realized that Codex’s ‘Review’ tab is a GitHub-style code review interface that let’s you chat about changes with the AI, collecting comments, and then submitting them all together. Not sure if this is a new feature, or if it’s been there forever, but it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for!
I built Bills to Budget because I needed a way to track spending with intention, not automation.
Bill tracking has been top tier since day 1, but budgeting has always been tricker to solve. I think I’m finally getting at the heart of the issue - super excited for the next release!
I've been testing this for the last week, and it's clicked for me - makes the regular account and budget review simple and (mostly) painless.
TestFlight coming soon!
I have a good feeling about this plan that Claude and I are cooking up…
We’re into the 26.4 beta cycle now - the .4 changes have been big ones over the last few years, with lots of additions to SwiftUI, AppIntents and others.
But Apple took away the ‘Changes’ drop down on their SDK docs a year or so back, so I have no idea what - if anything - is new.
How are we discovering SDK changes now? Is there a replacement? Has anyone catalogued these themselves?
A customer reached out this morning asking about a simple feature for Bills to Budget. It’s something that’s been on my radar for a while, so I started to pull on that thread.
I found two other key features that should be implemented first, if I’m going to do it right, so the ‘simple’ feature…
Folks who enjoy working with Codex over Claude Code — how do you handle branching/worktrees?
Claude Code generally handles this automatically, creating a new work tree for a new session. Codex seems to do most of its’ work in ‘main’, and only creates a worktree when it commits. This has… 🧵
Some of these changes have been on my mind for months, but needed some inspiration and focus time to start to become real. Excited to see where the next phase of Bills to Budget goes!
ASO question — if I have a keyword at a certain popularity and difficulty in a non-US locale, is that equivalent to a keyword with the same popularity/difficulty in the US? Or would it be weighted against the relative traffic that non-US AppStores get?
Love a good launch day! Bills to Budget gets some big updates today, making it easier to track your income, and update your accounts and spending budgets.
I've been using this for the last few weeks, and it's make a big difference in keeping daily spending under control!
