And with the professional stuff out of the way:
I have attended post-secondary twice in my lifetime, both times out of personal interest, learning what I needed and leaving when I was satisfied (no degrees). Linguistics first (focus on Semantics incl. Formal Logic), and Policy Studies the second (focus on Marginalized Populations incl. international Women's and Gender Studies).
I believe it's good and just to assess our values and to pick sides (the side of empathy, community, and humanism, ideally) and that we can do so even while holding space for nuance. I try to be pragmatic and support those who meet the moment in ways that matter to me.
As such, I tend to fall pretty far to the left on the political spectrum, but I don't identify directly with or subscribe to every value of any specific partisan camp. I support who I need to when goals align, and I believe in harm reduction as a political strategy otherwise. Anti-intellectualism and strict identitarian partisanship are dangerous to us all.
