it's a performance knob if you were wondering. so before you play demanding games you have to crank your knob

The UK consultation on further "online safety" measures has opened up, anyone can participate, there are surveys for young people (10-21), parents/carers and the general public

This is one of the fairly rare models of VT-series enhanced famiclone that supports loading ROMs from a MicroSD card. In fact it comes with a suspicious unmarked card labelled as "for testing only". Hmm

would your evil universe twin be a tiger? a wolf? Something else? — Damn that's a good question. I think you're onto something with a wolf since of course the opposite of a cat is a dog, and a wolf is a similar kind of dog to the kind of cat that… https://alterspring.org/@taizou/a/116450999094074485

well this card is full of half regular old pirated NES ROMs with names round-trip translated and truncated so you can barely tell what they are. The other half is a lot of anything scraped from anywhere including plenty of classic crude romhacks

Unfortunately unlike similar devices this does NOT seem to have a standard SD card file browser, or at least the trigger for it is different. The menu for the 1000 in 1 is hardcoded & the stock card files are obfuscated, so you could swap out the roms if you can find them but not change the names

Skateboard boy's skateboard does have functional wheels but he isn't attached to it and he fell off and onto the floor like the second I wasn't paying attention. His bubblegum snapped off & I had to blu-tack it back on

How's your Friday night going? — It was pretty chill I guess. I wasn't feeling too great after work so I just kinda lounged around watching streams and drinking wine. And then later on I did some more work on the new blog I want to set up... https://alterspring.org/@taizou/a/116506833190023150

it is on 1688 for ~£57 now & there is a part of me thinking i could buy one but the lack of L2/R2 and 2nd stick limits its appeal as an emu device too much for me, most games that don't need those are playable on handhelds I already have. probably not worth it just for the knob jokes.....
