Please boost. Tell your OpenClaw (and forks) using friends to check on their bots and look at their logs more than never. Encourage them to check how their bots are (vibe/self-)configured. Explain that public IRC nets are not for private bot comms.
We contacted OpenClaw, and they have partially fixed the docs. Zero public networks should be recommended.
For our fellow responsible IRC admins, please lock down #openclaw on your networks to discourage it being used for private comms in the open.

As an aside, the flagrant misuse of OpenClaw has re-ignited discussions within staff about what is and is not appropriate #LLM use on the network. At some point in future, we will be enshrining a significantly revised variation of our current, informal LLM etiquette[1] in network policy.

Hey everyone! While we're pleased with the reception of our IRCv3 upgrades, we realize that some people really like their older clients and don't want to upgrade for the sake of new features.
We are currently testing a way for older clients to benefit from our new IRCv3 features. For more information or if you'd like to help us with testing, please visit https://libera.chat/news/downgrades
Oregon State University's Open Source Lab is holding a fundraiser to help with their data center migration/upgrade. This move will allow OSUOSL to provide even more support to Open Source projects. Read more: https://osuosl.org/blog/data-center-migration-update-fundraising/
A massive thank you to all who responded to our previous post and our request for financial help.
We have since received the legal advice regarding the OSA, and the news is indeed good.
If you are interested, perhaps you also run a chat service, and want to know more, we have written a new post about our understanding of the advice we got at https://libera.chat/news/advised
This is the only tradition cooler than our NYE ascii art spamathon.
At our last MGM, we approved paying for legal advice about the UK's Online Safety Act. While we can afford this bill… it is just one bill. Laws like this are multiplying. So as awkward as this is, we are asking for help. See https://libera.chat/news/advice for more context.

@2something@transfem.social at some vague point in the future, there may be something like chat history. However it will involve very careful implementation and come with a big shift in our liability, especially as a volunteer-run non-profit, regarding entities like ofcom and things like chat control.

@danie10@mastodon.social ah, it seems that the host this instance uses hasn't installed the new version yet. The setting is ready for when it is upgraded.
