@securedrop@social.freedom.press @m3lang3@mastodon.online got it, ok will open an issue when I get a chance, would be happy to help make sure this doesn't impact ad blockers etc! (Feel free to ping me if I forget, currently juggling a few things so it's possible 😅.)

@securedrop@social.freedom.press I'm wondering, could this be misused by advert heavy websites to block users with an ad blocker or similar extensions installed? Also, if users with accessibility tools like screen readers could be caught in the crossfire?

@dotproto@toot.cafe was really interesting thanks! Re top-level frame matching for DNR, I proposed that here and drafted a patch a while ago. I was asked to write a design document though and I've not had a chance yet. Would be great to see that progress (and I'd be happy to help implement in Chromium if I can, it's something that we could really use too).

@dotproto@toot.cafe nice, I've been meaning to join those calls for ages but never getting around to it. I'll give the episode a listen 😎

@lukastaegert That's a nice hack 😎 . I did something similar to speed up my puzzle solver a few years back, getting fast bitwise or+and for bitflags does feel like kind of a super power in some situations. I never thought to replace a JavaScript Set like you did though, interesting. https://gist.github.com/kzar/e41a21d1303f6444267a

@dotproto@toot.cafe @oliverdunk@mastodon.social I added some notes on the issue there, let me know the next steps. I don't have a ton of spare time at the moment, but I'm keen to try and get this moving https://github.com/w3c/webextensions/issues/762#issuecomment-2700840359

@lukastaegert From memory, I think it went from tens of seconds, or maybe seconds to milliseconds. I should have kept better records (and added some comments)! In my defense, that code was just for fun. I was curious, did you ever run out of space for the flags, or do JavaScript's BigInts keep growing automatically?

My Glove80 keyboard arrived today, how exciting. Seems great so far, just getting used to the different shift + cntrl key positioning vs the Kinesis!

@securedrop@social.freedom.press @m3lang3@mastodon.online phew OK, that's good to know. Also OK if ad blocker or similar extension redirects website requests (e.g. to a "shim" script to avoid tracking/ads while reducing website breakage), and other forms of content blocking like element hiding (e.g. user or injected stylesheets to hide advert elements and whitespace left by blocking)?
