@kevinrothrock@infosec.exchange voting for systemic opposition is an alright option though. It might become less systemic when it gains some power. Some КПРФ guys for example have made pro-peace statements now

@stux@mstdn.social isn't this effectively just fishing for badly set up agents with the goal of material gain

@stux@mstdn.social thousands how? I mean, what hosting solution leads to this sort of scaling? Maybe you have something I could read on the topic? And how do you typically fund this place then, were donations enough before?

@stux@mstdn.social wait so it's not even the crawlers and agents that cost you? Kinda roundabout in the sense of responsibility, punishing ai users for increased HBM demand or whatever And ironically you could maybe use an LLM to assist you with moderation

@stux@mstdn.social @Twotired@universeodon.com well yeah. If you deliberately lay a trap and extract value from someone because they weren't vigilant enough that's something you chose to do. Their failure to protect themselves doesn't make this exploiting morally neutral And from what you've said these specific agent users aren't even the direct source of your rising costs, it's even less justified then

@Twotired@universeodon.com the point is that this is just morally iffy, idk. Some random kid sets up a local agent or something, misconfigures it, it stumbles upon this place as part of some task and sends the instance a hundred bucks via PayPal. It's basically traps for autonomous computers
