Eight years ago, I arrived at this building on a fine day in mid-September -- for Incoming Grad Student Math Camp. Today I am walking in for onboarding as I start my Assistant Professor journey. I love the University of Washington and I am so proud to have the chance to continue to serve the students and the public through my teaching and research.

Just got a thank you from Penn, telling me they admitted a student I wrote a letter of recommendation for. Every school should do this!
Great overview live at #FOSSY right now on how community projects (including open source projects) can benefit from working with fiscal hosting organizations -- speakers from SFConservancy and Aspiration Tech. Governance, financial management, operations planning, and more. Stream for FOSSY is at https://2025.fossy.us/streaming/ based on schedule at https://2025.fossy.us/schedule/
Glad to be back at #fossy -- kicked off my day listening to a stirring challenge to the software supply chain analogy from @bkuhn@fedi.copyleft.org and now listening to kernel maintainers talk about their experiences. Great day to be an open source researcher :-)
I very rarely achieve Inbox Zero these days, but at least I can still reach PCS Green. [Translation to non-academic types -- this means I finally emptied my peer review queue! But, like the inbox, it's likely to re-fill....]
