OMFG People have no sense of community life. We were organizing a house party for tonight. We've been working on it for two days. We had a nice cozy setup by the window. The weather is nice. People start to arrive and we get ready for the first course of a 5 course 6 people meal with long time friends...

And then our neighbors decide to paint their fucking stairs. Right in front of our window. With the smelliest most toxic paint you can think of and proceed to drench the entire apartment in fumes reminiscent of burnt electronics and varnish. It took 15 seconds.

15 seconds to notice, get up, and close the window. Dinner ruined. People were getting dizzy, and we had to leave.

They could've warned us. Knock and ask us to close the windows... Nope...

Thanks for ruining our week.

Please, people, when you work with stuff that requires ventilation, make sure you dont do it inside other people's apartment!

I've been on mstdn.ca for a while now. It was my first account on this network and I've enjoyed it a lot. Because I can, and I believe into giving back to people providing things I care for, I am also a donator here. I've also offered to act as a fail-over for DR purposes, if it ever became necessary.

It's been over two weeks since I can't connect to this server with my favorite Android App Moshidon. This is the only server I use that is affected. I emailed the admin crew to see if we could figure out what's up, and they turned me away, saying "there are tons of other apps you can use". Now people are reporting they can't upload pictures using the official app. Same answer.

Our admin made a tons of bad decisions in the past, including not blocking Threads, or announcing they'd be buying a Tesla. This week they announced they got into vibe coding.
