Katharina Damschen
Software Engineer, Knitter, Gardener, Seamstress, Chicken Keeper. Living with my family in Borås, Sweden.
I'm on my way home from #scanagile26. Met lots of interesting people and did manage to give my talk. I was extremely nervous, but survived!
Was wearing another self made outfit. A skirt made from IKEA fabric (pattern is Sewaholic Hollyburn) and a knitted cardigan (pattern is Peacock Eyes by Justyna Lorkowska).

A new version of SwatchIt is now available on F-Droid:
https://f-droid.org/packages/net.damschen.swatchit/
It let's you filter and sort your swatches.
As all the data you enter in the app is only stored on your device it would be a lot of manual work to move the data to another device. So I added export/import functionality some weeks ago (but forgot to announce it back then 😊).
Let me know what you think!
I'm extremely excited to be speaking at DDDEurope in June! I also think it is so neat that my talk is part of the Foundations Track, what a nice concept.
Really looking forward to this! 🎉
I'm on my way to Scan Agile in Helsinki to meet lots of interesting people! I'll also be giving a talk about an accessible way to start with Domain-driven Design.

I published another blog post drawing parallels between structural engineering and software engineering.
This time I explain how the Limit State Design method helps structural engineers to design reliable structures while still building economical and how I think that relates to designing and building software systems.

Career-wise I've gone full circle from Structural Engineer to Software Architect.
I wrote down some thoughts on the parallels between the two disciplines, focusing on how Structural Idealization relates to Bounded Contexts, Interfaces and the necessity of Iteration.
I also take a stand to rename "Software Architecture" to "Software Structural Engineering" 🏗️
