@abergmeier @Di4na He makes it already explicitly clear: he wants to provide ZERO services. Labeling a coder as a supplier (even if he packages) is like saying every author and editor on Wikipedia is a supplier for my students and hence a supplier for my school when they use it.

Google: everything must happen in the browser to accomodate mayority of users who need "just simple mail, storage, wordprocessing and spreadsheeting". But using student and staffdata to profile people and using that in their vast advertisement ecosystem is the main concern. They promise not to do that but they mix up services in which a person is a mere customer and a business/school worker. So one cant enforce them not use data from one context in another.

@abergmeier @Di4na So a school expects hasslefree service without on-prem maintance regardless if its open or closed and somebody makes an offer to be procured. OSS communities dont want liability (which I get) but do expect schools to choose it. Or if there is empathy towards the public sector they expect goverment to fund schools properly for technical expertise to do everything themselves.

MS: applications + services for Office collaboration, security, OS and Identity. Trapped because its a vast convenient ecosystem, with propietary fileformats being a minor actor but monopolism and data-sovereignty are the main concerns. Ghe .... Moving followers from a Mastodon instance to an Akkoma instance is not supported I guess? I know Mastodon has its own API so maybe as long as Akkoma doesnt talk it, its not possible. Alas, by hand re-following it will be ... cc @axbom@axbom.me @meneer@social.meneer.space
