for anyone curious, it was originalyl around £1,100 new when it launched in 2021 afaict, and we found it renewed on amazon for £300 :), pretty happy with this! since it's built for businesses primarily, should have that good thinkpad build quality too!

it's 16GB soldered, then I can add the 16GB RAM from my current laptop to have 32GB 🔥
it's got a core i7 11th gen, so pretty good upgrade from the 8th gen core i7 in my current laptop, and it has a good clock speed (boosted) of 4.8Ghz!
will also have that nice Thinkpad keyboard (which has working
what I find interesting about the minecraft legacy console edition source code leak is that a lot of the indie devs hacking on it are running windows.
maybe not a surprise to some, but feels like quite a linux-y thing to do imo (hacking around w the game)
crazy how many apps still aren’t compiled with the iOS 26 SDK. it’s pissing me off still seeing the iOS 18 keyboard in some apps 😭😭

brand new from apple too, so none of the sketchy BS we've had to put up with with this thinkpad from amazon renewed.

oh well, at least i found out before something bad would’ve happened (especially w/ our router having the default username/pass still 😭), but yeah idkkkkkkk
i tried playit.gg but couldn’t get it to authenticate correctly, it kept logging into the acc just fine, then
got a shit maths test tomorrow that I know won’t go well. oh well, goodnight
it's weird, it sort of feels like a sunday today. happy it's not lol. had a good day, bbq with friends (yes, in this amazing weather...)

i also wish the MacBook Neo would speed up and ship already
raycast’s new glaze feature/app looks really cool too!
glazeapp.com
wonder if it’ll be a part of Raycast or separate? Seems separate but it sucks if it’ll come with a sub. wonder if it’s free to use others’ apps?
OMGG the new macs look nice
Especially the silver and blue, the silver one looks like the mid 2000s Macs
tf is the point in this?? 😭
literally just do it in the control centre / lock screen shortcut lmaooo

well there’s the most popular colour for the MacBook Neo…. https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/05/first-macbook-neo-pre-order-configuration-slips-to-after-release-date/
not sure how well the benchmarks reflect everyday use, but the fact that a model as small as a 4b one can get higher than GPT-4o (ChatGPT’s “main” model for a while in a way) is CRAZY!
gonna try squeeze this onto my Mac mini (M2, 8/256 😅)
uh is discord down
time to listen to #kattdo in full (over next few days)
aperture was pretty good, excited to hear the rest!
Let’s go! Zed has a new education plan, I connected it to my school email, and it works!! Now getting $10/mo free credits for a year 👀🙏
Need to see what models are available in ts lol

but the app is sooo unbelievably ugly, i bet claude code could've written a native iOS one with the same features for cheaper 😭
😬just did the form for my provisional driver’s license…. we’ll book first few lessons once it arrives

ugh my mum doesn't seem too fond on the idea which is fair enough ig (the thinkpad costed like half the price of this theoretical MBN price). i'm gonna go in the store later and ask what the student discount on the 512GB option would be.
whoops lol, made a mistake yesterday when i was opening port 25565 on my router and port forwarding to my old optiplex PC hosting my minecraft server. if people visited the domain in a web browser, it literally showed my router’s web dashboard in their browser 💀

wonder what my parents would think of this option too. when i was asking if i could get a new laptop, they knew it couldn't be a mac, and specifically told me this lol, bc of the price... but this might be somewhat convincible to them LOL.
just got an invite to use Orion on Linux via email! (by the Kagi team!)
trying it out rn

that 16hr battery would be _super_ useful to me. i'm just wondering if the 8GB would become useless in like 2 years' time or something...
just thinking about options... options...

UIOP keys!) and a decent, functional battery (at least Amazon Renewed claims it will be at least 80% of its original capacity) - but since it's a Thinkpad I should be able to replace its battery quite easily in future anyways :)
but yea, i'm really looking forward to it :D
