@krig@goto.liten.app @levork@graphics.social That looks more like someone who needs to properly set up their tooling. E.g. throwing and discarding exceptions I have never encountered in LLM code, both in Python and in C++. Verbose comments - yes. Crappy code in places? Certainly. But that is mostly rapidly found and fixed during reviews. Which is what takes most time these days. Code full of "personality" is often a problem when you have many devs who will not agree on common style (which they never do ...)

@krig@goto.liten.app @levork@graphics.social Well, sure. But that you can't fix by removing tools that make everyone else productive. They would still produce crap that someone else needs to clean up - only a bit slower. The solution is training - and if that does not work, termination.

@krig@goto.liten.app @levork@graphics.social Well, but that is no different then doing sloppy work then, AI or no AI. That is a "wetware" problem and not software one, unfortunately.

@Wifi_cable@chaos.social Well, it is not wrong. If all you want is clean salt water, that is. It does not promise water desalination. It still dumb, like 99.9 of those "life hacks" from TickTok

@asrg @aaron @marcusb @mike @Fingel Just hope you aren't paying for the extra bandwidth you create for yourself by using one of these things. (It is also mostly feel-good, I-have-shown-them stuff without much real impact because the data are obviously cleaned before feeding them into the training and the scrapers have resource & time limits, but that's another debate.)

@mightyohm@mastodon.social Oh that's a good idea! Have to try that, I have a ton of those clips and fork terminals! Yeah, the stock alligator clips are extremely annoying - hard to clip on, never stay put, there is never enough space to clip them on ...

@jrp Well, unless your bandwidth is free and unlimited, you are pretty much guaranteed to receive a sizable bill by doing this. Instead of the bot scanning your site and moving on, you are keeping it there churning through junk - all the while you are paying for the traffic. If you are not paying for traffic, then your upstream ISP will likely notice. And if you set it up on Github (or similar) you will only get your account terminated for TOS violation - AI will certainly notice. 🤷

Job ad: "Mind. 5 Jahre Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von KI-Modellen, z. B. mit LLMs (Large Language Models), Deep Learning, Agentic AI, RAG-Architekturen "

ChatGPT was released in 2022 ... I wonder how they want to fill that position 🤦‍♂️

@krig@goto.liten.app @levork@graphics.social I can imagine why you feel like that. But that ship has pretty much long sailed, at least for professional work. The best we can do is to try make better use of the tools we have, try to figure how to use the new the tools better - e.g. the entire agent stuff pretty much nobody knows how to properly use yet, the best practices have to be yet written and found, etc. But ignoring it is not an option, really. A least if you want to keep your job.
