Mike Johnson needs to be censured for not upholding the justice system and continuing to imply, by invoking the Supreme Court to interfere, that Trump didn't get a fair trial and was not held to account for his crimes.
@RickiTarr@beige.party I heard on a recent podcast that what we need is to move away from neoliberal capitalism and toward progressive capitalism and that is the extent of my knowledge on that topic ^_^
The fact that America is so blinded by car centrism that we will literally tear up everything and litter the landscape with car chargers but the notion that we can't have great public transportation (light rail, trains, bike infrastructure) because it's not feasible is just so distasteful to me that I don't ever want to buy an electric vehicle or another car. The nation has sold its soul to the automobile industry and its citizens and the strength of our country is paying the price for it.
Journalists are single-handedly propping up X-nay-Twitter. Because they feel the need to continue hanging out there (to watch the house burn down, I suppose) they also find it a cheap source of content fodder for their articles. This is why we keep seeing tweets from numpties and nobodies being injected into stories to pad the length. Please stop, it's cheap, and it looks lazy.
Maybe there's a large swath of people that feel like cars are the problem, even EVs, and don't want to perpetuate car dominance? Maybe all cars are just too dang expensive.

The strongest, toughest people are those who continually show kindness, compassion, and understanding to others. At times, this is the hardest thing in the world to do.
Isn't this the shenanigans that conservatives are trying to pin on Biden but can't?
The US EV market feels like the 70s again. US manufacturers befuddled why their gigantic, expensive, impractical EVs aren't selling well then an overseas manufacturer of smaller, practical, affordable EVs will swoop in and make abundantly clear what should have been obvious the entire time if the US manufacturers weren't drinking their own kool-aid and chasing profits.
If a person is a flight risk and there's a possibility that they might try to dodge justice, we place restrictions on their movement so that they can't.
So why wouldn't the courts expedite Trump's cases knowing full well that he's trying to escape justice by winning the election and shutting down the court cases
It's not that Trumpers and the far right can't see the crumbling of democracy and our constitution. It's the POINT
Mike Johnson, second in line to the presidency, shared the details in a speech at a Christian nationalist gala Tuesday.

If Trump wins in 2024 and he becomes the dictator we know he will be, and we have a civil war to regain our country, I hope folks like Hannity and others are tried for treason

It's comical that it's not Musk's anti-Semitism that bothers some of his supporters but that the anti-Semitism hits them in the pocketbook. Being a trash human being isn't the problem in their eyes.

@HamonWry@mastodon.world if DST wasn't discussed incessantly, I wouldn't even notice it happening, especially with devices updating themselves nowadays.
