#RStats via Wine on Linux works pretty well and is straightforward to install and run:

$ winecfg /v win11 $ wget https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/R-4.6.0-win.exe $ wine R-4.6.0-win.exe /SILENT $ wine "C:/Program Files/R/R-4.6.0/bin/x64/R.exe" ...

I've haven't tried Rtools or building R from source, so don't know how well that part works

PS. Mostly used it to run R Windows workers in the background (https://parallelly.futureverse.org/articles/parallelly-22-wine-workers.html)

@eliocamp@mastodon.social @datastory@mstdn.ca AFAIU, these are all suburbs in our near Calgary, so basically all located at the same latitude. At this scale, I don't think altitude is a driving factor (as shown). I'd expect the micro climate, as in many parts of the world, to be the driving factor, e.g. topology, vegetation, location relative to mountains and valleys where venturi (funneled winds) and maybe chinooks(?) comes into play, and even the location of buildings, if scale is small enough.
