I'm going to RiscOS North tomorrow, looking to see what I can modify and upgrade on my Acorn Risc PC.

I thought about bringing a portable monitor with me, but couldn't find my VGA to HDMI adapter, so gave up on that idea, and just decided that I'd bring the carcass of the machine to do some troubleshooting with the RTC battery circuit, and at the show I could actually try fitting anything I buy.

I got into my hotel room and discovered that the TV had all the display inputs, so...

@Kingu The I is spot on but you need to use en-dash for most letters and em-dash for m and w. That's where the names of the dashes come from! En-dash is the width of the letter n (which is most letter widths), and em-dash is the width of the letter m. #typography

@maj@cosocial.ca It works for me. There are additional security measures that interfered with my browsing workflow - it has it's own alternative to Firefox containers, but it can be disabled. It seems to sync nicely with my Firefox data at Mozilla so migrating was relatively easy. Once I get around to moving all my machines over I'll be looking into how to sync with my own nextcloud server instead, but that needs to work with Fennec on my phone and tablet.

We have just watched episode 8 of The Amazing Digital Circus.

That hit hard.

We are literally watching episode 1 of Resurrection of the Daleks so we have something less dark to watch before going to bed.

@fullfathomfive We had this image up on the wall in the office when I was working on subtitling software. The saving grace was that BBC / RedBee decided they were going to use their own live subtitling system rather than ours.

@terribletowelie @maxleibman Have you noticed then whenever technology is updated it sometimes fixes things, but also comes with changes that you never asked for, or wanted. Also it is maths, not "math". As it is a moot point, I table the motion that English(traditional) is the correct English that is used in more countries around the world than the simplified version. Let me know if you agree.
