Pleased to receive the electronic form of my contributor copy of the 2026 Dwarf Stars #anthology yesterday. My poem, "raging storm", which was originally published in Star*Line 48.4, appears in it. The print copy will soon follow.
All poets whose poems were selected for the anthology are finalists in the Dwarf Star #award, which recognises the best #speculative #poem published in 2025. The winner will be announced in October. Two other poems of mine were finalists in 2021 & 2023, respectively.

@internetarchive@mastodon.archive.org @brewsterkahle@mastodon.archive.org For context, Richard Sanders, director of a new documentary, Investigating War Crimes in Gaza, said on Democracy Now! (9 October 2024) that 'what we hope very much is that [Israeli soldiers' videos of war crimes posted on social media] will be of use, um, to the ICC. And ... if you follow Hebrew language social media, there's been a panicky, um, deleting on social media accounts over the last few days. ... We've got it all saved.' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucfxj-faTWI (11:54+)

The #workshop I attended today at #WriteHive 2026 was on query letters (as written by book authors seeking an agent to represent them and their book) and it was presented by Lindsay Merbaum. Lots of handy advice given with sample letters discussed between the presenter and the participants. #QueryLettershttps://writehive.org/writehive-annual-conference/

Attended the #WriteHive 2026 presentation by @Mari_Ness@wandering.shop on 'Popular #Poetry: Why the Forms Work and What's Next', which was moderated by @historyneverwas@wandering.shop. Lots of interesting & entertaining insights!
Also attended the Guest of Honour #interview of Carmeline Melchior by Patchree Jones. Very good on the need for more diverse #representation in speculative literature (and literature in general).

@internetarchive@mastodon.archive.org @brewsterkahle@mastodon.archive.org Well this is annoying! Hopefully, the archive's data is intact but the data breach on top of the DDOS and the defacement is bad news. While it could be just jerks having 'fun' it's more likely that a government (e.g. that of Russia or Israel) has attacked the site to remove public access to troubling videos and photos of war crimes.
