@cubeos@hachyderm.io I agree. It needs a closing - but most likely not the way you are thinking of. IMHO, VPNs should be always allowed, while pornographic content should be prohibited. Hence, all VPNs would need to do to continue operating is blocking pornographic content.

@cubeos@hachyderm.io I don't advocate for a technical solution. I advocate for a legal one - of making pornography illegal.

@cubeos@hachyderm.io Probably something in the lines of: "The explicit literary, audio, or visual depiction of sexual subject matter - for sexual arousal and/or gratification."

@cubeos@hachyderm.io Half of the world's culture is _not_ pornography. It might not, or it might, depends on the people's choice.

@cubeos@hachyderm.io An update regarding AI images, you say, and, in my opinion, pornography, which produces many societal harms, which we can discuss, if you wish.

@AngelicAura@transfem.social Fact-checking this news-piece, Claude says: "## Bottom line Not fake news. The factual scaffolding — the Handelsblatt reporting, the open letter, the Parliament resolution, the underlying DMA proceedings — is all real and well-sourced. But you're reading an advocacy organisation's interpretation of leaked reporting that the Commission hasn't officially confirmed. For a more neutral take, the original Handelsblatt article or the Heise coverage would be better starting points."
