Just like people doctors, sometimes machine doctors need to refer out to specialists.
Today we did that for the first time. This stunning brick red Husqvarna Viking 6460 needs a total disassembly that others are better qualified (and have more time) to do.
After that work, this machine is such high quality it'll be functional and productive far longer than any of us.

KPPattern is a Milwaukie local who now offers a pattern printing service. $4 per A0-sized page, which is less than we've been paying at FedEx/Kinkos.
Send them your pattern, then pick it up at Sewcial Studies in downtown Milwaukie.

This morning we spent a couple hours introducing ourselves to other businesses in beautiful downtown #Milwaukie. They're a really welcoming bunch!
While doing that, we learned that the Made In Milwaukie store has the BEST free schwag in the whole #Portland area. 😍
This, friends, is why you should always service those thrift/charity shop machines you pick up.
Yes, they're super machines that'll last. But sometimes? Their gear boxes hide a big, nasty, sticky blob of antique grease that's gonna make your life hell some day.
Maintenance matters.

"Swap" is a misnomer though, as you're welcome to drop off materials OR take what you need/want without swapping at all.
There'll also be fabric scrap recycling, rotary blade sharpening, and US! We'll do free troubleshooting of your sewing machine.

Some bastards broke into B-Sides Vintage & Records in #Milwaukie & stole a bunch of high-value stuff. 🤬
The shop is holding a friends & family sale to make some $ for repairs, etc. Select vintage stuff 50% off and many crates of records, none for more than $10.
