Building pan-European media: why is it so hard? - by @alejandrotauber@journa.host

Pan-European media could show citizens of Europe that the EU is not just a bureaucracy machine that produces rules, but a society made up of people who might share some similarities with you — or not. EU industrial policy forgets one important detail: people by @westervangaal@mastodon.green

Europe is responding to US green subsidies by unleashing green subsidies of its own. But the focus on industry and great power rivalry has overshadowed what the EU Commission itself has repeatedly said is central to the green transformation: people.

At the start of the afternoon, ministers started their debate about the price cap, with two alternatives at €188/MWh and €180/MWh being discussed.

EU energy commissioner Kadri Simson said a deal was within reach but needed "a very strong spirit of compromise from everyone" — (meaning the Dutch and the Germans).
