So, yeah, given #mastodonCloud's long-time flakiness and impending transfer to a pretty-much unknown entity, I'm going to be moving to toot.cat, as long promised and/or threatened.

We'll see how well the automigration stuff works.

I'll be interested to see if blocks propagate .... Both ways ;-)

Blocking JS on the site.
Extreme CSS surgery and nuking any elements not associated with the primary story.

I just did this on ... fuck, I don't even remember what damned site it was, but scrolling down sufficiently TOOK ME OFF THE FUCKING PAGE I WAS READING ENTIRELY.

Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

Oh, and I've discovered, reading the NY Times in w3m, THAT THE TIMES DOESN'T PUT LINK TEXT WITH THEIR LINKS ANY MORE IN THEIR BASIC HTML PAGE.

@maradydd@mastodon.social For hw long / how unobtrusively? Lavalier clipped to a collar, or a mic stand if you want proximity. A photo tripod makes an acceptable stand in a pinch. Mobile devices have surprisingly good mics. Sound experience: light, though some experience with both items & Audacity. Never actually miced a cat, self excepted.

Remember, there's an API as well, you can talk through that. It would authenticat to the servers, but you wouldn't have to worry about that.
