@machocam@mastodon.social in the early days sqlite was rarely available, even today not every php setup might have it.
but yeah if I had to solve the issue of indexing today, I would probably use it. but since the indexing mechanism exists and works, there is no reason to add a new dependency.
Because of a bug in the build script for our official Docker images, a timeout caused the latest "stable" image to actually contain a development snapshot of "master". The bug has been fixed and new images have been pushed. You might want to pull again.
