New blog post. http://GOV.UK Forms and the State of Government as a Platform : https://medium.com/p/90f432814213.

Huge props to Code for America for putting so much of their 2024 summit up on YouTube.

MHCLG standardising it's digital offer is great. I'm looking forward to seeing what form this takes : https://mhclgdigital.blog.gov.uk/2024/08/07/delivering-at-pace-introducing-common-tools-as-a-service. It really shouldn't be up to individual departments to do this though. It should be coordinated centrally by DSIT.

Two blog posts in one day? What is this madness! Coding with ChatGPT 2 : XKCD for government : https://medium.com/desiderium-sciendi/coding-with-chatgpt-2-xkcd-for-government-117c5f4b6e22. Plus a roundup of What I’ve written in July and August : https://cholten99-61869.medium.com/what-ive-written-in-july-and-august-f9bcc4458950.

New blog post. Losing weight with ChatGPT : His master’s voice - https://medium.com/desiderium-sciendi/losing-weight-with-chatgpt-his-masters-voice-4bf272129ef5.

Hey everyone. Myself, Gavin Freeguard and Derek Alton are looking for a free / relatively cheap space near-ish to the Cabinet Office where we could host a series of talks about government transformation. If you know of any unheard of gems please let us know!

My new article is published at Apolitical - Code to country: what governments can learn from open-source software : https://apolitical.co/solution-articles/en/code-to-country-what-governments-can-learn-from-open-source-software

It's excellent to read in GDS's blog about their working with governments in other countries but why does this feel so sporadic and one-off? A blog post : https://medium.com/desiderium-sciendi/why-is-there-no-government-supported-international-public-service-wiki-or-online-chat-86e0de222cb3.

Great post from GDS about #ServicesWeek
: https://services.blog.gov.uk/2024/08/08/services-week-2024-in-review/ Does make me ask once again though, if session recordings were in a playlist - why isn't that public?

I wrote a blog post about using #ChatGPT to write software and how that might impact government tech teams. Also about my dad. https://medium.com/desiderium-sciendi/coding-with-chatgpt-1-like-father-like-son-216a4e765ba0

Late to the party as ever I've only just got around to watching this Demos video with Audrey Tang
: https://youtube.com/watch?v=dKX_z0I9t5I. It's *extremely* good. I'd love to know how many ministers or spads in the new government have watched it or had an opportunity to speak to Audrey.

Great blog post from GDS about GOV.UK Forms : https://gds.blog.gov.uk/2024/08/12/how-to-get-started-using-gov-uk-forms-experiences-of-the-content-team-at-the-dvsa.

I did a blog post on OPEN's great Community Survey : https://medium.com/desiderium-sciendi/my-thoughts-on-the-open-2024-community-survey-report-9d57d4c98a09 #polyamory

Finished my slightly epic blog post on the new excellent Citizens' White Paper from Demos and Involve. Don't worry, you can skip to the end if need be :https://medium.com/desiderium-sciendi/my-thoughts-on-the-citizens-white-paper-it-s-great-fef52f2b36aa

My post GOV.UK Forms and the State of Government as a Platform (https://medium.com/desiderium-sciendi/gov-uk-forms-and-the-state-of-government-as-a-platform-90f432814213) could be part of the new government's discussion on sunk costs in digital government. (4/7)

@beasts@social.mythic-beasts.com I've just sent a follow-up email about the email issues I've been having since the end of last week. I'm not receiving incoming email on two accounts at the moment so would appreciate some help ASAP. Thanks. David Durant.
