In August, it will be possible to travel by train between Sweden and Finland again. Ticket sales starting in the end of June (only a few days left!). The Wikipedia article on Haparanda station has the details for why that wasn't already the case.

Travel between the capitals. From Helsinki, directly to Oulu with VR, then another VR train to Haparanda in Sweden. Local train Norrtåg between Haparanda and Luleå. End with sleeper train SJ to Stockholm.

The EU decided to abolish ST (summer time, also known as DST elsewhere‍‍) and then nothing happened. Should we settle on the standard times we have or pick STs as the new standard? Countries disagree, resulting in a possible redraw of the TZ map.

My proposal is to side step this issue by gently moving into UTC field by field. This will lower the stakes. The countries can make the offical move later.

UTC is close enough and already in use.
