@blog TBH if I had to cut costs, it would be pretty high up there on the list to cut back because my analysis of my own usage and household need would allow it pretty well, although there might be times of frustration.

Agreed, try to use distro repo deps or maybe Homebrew if you can create a linuxbrew user or at least _a_ user can install to /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew.
Otherwise, consider using uv's venv provisioner as an idempotent caching mechanism… it'll figure out what's writeable or you can set it.

We're resolving this over snail mail since I already spent an hour on the phone to do something I should have been able to do with a couple clicks on your website. I already paid an extra $10 in interest in earlier delays!
It already cost you 78¢ to tell me that I owe you 63¢, so I'll use of my coveted Forever Stamps for which I paid 55¢ and burn 30 minutes of ~$30/hr your person time for handling the letter and its response.

That feeling when you procrastinate long enough on the task of calling a corporation to ask where your refund check is, when suddenly a check just shows up.
In fact, two checks. Unfortunately they are duplicate copies of the same check number, so now I feel compelled to…
(Although it doesn't cost me any time… but clearly someone there screwed up royally if I'm getting duplicate checks because that means other people probably got duplicate checks, as well)

@blog I've been on FiOS gig for almost 10 years. The price paid has barely changed, so it's gotten cheaper comparatively.
I could save about $40 a month if I went from gig to 300 Mbps, but only $15 if I want to 500.
I really notice a difference when downloading games and software updates. More so the former, but really seriously just recently when I got a really high-end nvme SSD.
Downloading a 35 GB game at 100 MiB/s is pretty neat.
If only my work VPN wasn't limited to 200 Mbps…

I think I've most noticed it with an e following and i and the two should be a separate sound, e.g. België en patiënt.
