@mathias@social.fussenegger.pro sadly some ecosystems aren't amazing at following semantic versioning, so in my experience this has also been a good way for downstream users to see that a dep was updated _possibly_ causing something error for them with a version mismatch or some version they didn't expect getting evicted. This has saved me a time or two when quickly glancing at changelogs and seeing a dep was bumped that ended up causing me issues.
